Slip n Slide

The pictures are self explanatory! I couldn't help myself....we were just trying to water our new grass :)

Happy Birthday Joshua

I cannot believe he is 4! We had a great party with a GREAT scavenger hunt leading us through places like fairy land, pirates cove, a bat cave, the sahara desert, fighting dragons, digging up buried treasure maps...it was so much fun. We played a lot of games and ofcourse Josh's favorite ,the pinata. He won a trophy for hardest hit, and that was the highlight of his bday. I wanted to make something that was mess free and didn't require utensils or plates, so I made cupcakes in a cone, I thought they turned out pretty good. Josh's fav. gift was the hockey gear and red wings jersey from his dad and Aunt JuJu, by the end of the day, he was pooped and couldn't even finish his regular stories before bed. Toby is our new dog, a shitzu mix, he was an ealry bday present for Joshua. He is a great dog, but I am adjusting to an animal in my house!!!

Happy Birthday Elan

Elan turned 31 on Tuesday, June 30th. I am a firm believer in celebrating from morning til night literally. The whole day should be in your honor, favorite foods all day, whatever tickles your fancy. So, He started his day off bright and early with a round of golf with my brother and a box of doughnuts (which we NEVER HAVE), then he came home to a stack of presents all containing a new wardrobe since his selection is currently limited to galaxy t-shirts or golf shirts. We took kids bowling and ofcourse played in the arcade. After the bowling alley, my parents suprised him with an ENORMOUS grill for our new gigantic yard. Oh, let us not forget the homeade strawberry shortcake with all 31 candles. After we put the kids down and got babysitter, we went out for Fondue at the Melting pot! SOOOOOOO yummy! I still feel fat from it. It was a great place and very quiet and dark, no kids - we had a nice time in a corner booth with a drawn black curtain....Hope you had a happy birthday!

Moroni and the Title of Liberty

Presenting the world's best Moroni actor - Joshua Vallender! We had our cousins over for FHE. Daddy "rent his cloak" and all the kids wrote on their flag things they are willing to fight for - some of which are Bobby. (a dog), freedom, country, family...etc. Then they all got dressed up with foil and were soldiers carrying their titles of liberty. It was a lot of fun learning about prophets, and fighting for our rights! Appropriate for the times I think. Naomi wanted in on the action too. We ended up having a foil ball fight which Uncle Fred insighted.

Joshua' s card

Part of this got cut off, but it is Joshua's card to Grandpa and Grandpop. It says Happy Father Day (no S), I Love (in the form of a wierd heart) U. JOSH

I am so proud of him. Not quite 4 and he does pretty good!

Happy Fathers Day!

Okay, so on Fathers Day, Elan woke up to spraying silly string. He had 3 trails leading to different presents. The first trail was potatoes leading his "couch potato" part of the day in the form of watching his new movie, "the mummy". The second trail was toys leading to the toy room where he was greeted with Joshua's gift, a superman singing card and matching basketball outfits. The third and final trail was a hammock! Oh, and not pictured the gigantic homeade carrot cake to be eaten and get fat on all day! We love our daddy, and we wanted to make sure he had all the tools to relax today. At the end of the night, we went to see the sick - Dad had a knee replacement this week, so he is recovering from that. We went over to say hello and help him "get better". We bought him a white tie and singing card with "new york, new york" on it. They got their second mission call to the Manhattan Temple, and they are leaving in August. We are very proud of him. I hope that you recover quick dad and get out there to serve in the temple and find families to reactivate all over the place!

I truly love the 2 men in my life that represent a father to me. My father set a very high standard to meet, and I dare say that I met it with E'lan - in a different way, he is the same kind of spectacular dad. LOVE YOU GUYS! Can't forget my grandfathers, Grandpa White - What a mountain of a man. I can only hope and pray that E'lan can become like that. I love you "pappy".

Girls Camp

I am back to the land of the living. I was at camp for a week this month, and prior to that I was immersed in planning for it. So, now that I have had a weeks recovery period, I need to update the good ole blog. We went to Camp Lo Mia which is north of Payson about 15 miles, it was woody, green, mountains, cool weather, with a stream! I was in HEAVEN to say the least. GREEN TREES WERE CALLING TO ME FROM AFAR! Oh how I miss the green, anyway, aside from the aesthetic beauty, it was a most rewarding spiritual experience. Each day was a different experience. At the end of camp, we hung a banner of virtue similar to what the General YW PRES did calling all the young women to virtue - in the middle of the woods comes Moroni dressed in all the warrior garb quoting scriptures from the Title of Liberty. The stormy clouds literally parted and the heavens turned purple and gold. It was an amazing expereince seeing all these girls promising to be better, to be virtuous. While there, I learned a lot about myself too. More on that later. Here are a couple of pictures for you to see what we did, a little of it. What a blessing in my life to be a part of something so life changing. I was able to draw closer to friends, learn about the girls, and understand my purpose in this life more clearly.
